Halloween and Candy Exchange
Posted 10/30/18

Hello Monte Vista Families!

Halloween is almost here!

  • Please remember any costumes your child wears to school must be appropriate for the school setting: costume weapons are not allowed; fake blood make-up, and costumes or masks with fake blood are not allowed. Students are not required to wear costumes to school.
  • Monster Mash Parade will start around 9:20 am on Wednesday, Oct 31 at the portable classrooms and will then wind through each classroom in the main building, ending with a massive "Hokey Pokey" dance on the basketball court. You are very welcome to join us!
  • Many classrooms are having celebration lunches on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31. Attached, please find a Healthy Celebrations Snack Guidelines from our MV Wellness Council. We hope this helps you find healthier options for the classrooms.
  • The annual Student Council Halloween Carnival will be after school on Wednesday, Oct 31 in the school gym.from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.... always a lot of fun!
  • Halloween Candy Exchange will be on Thursday and Friday, Nov 1 and 2 BEFORE SCHOOL at the covered picnic table on the main playground. Students are encouraged to give a bag (or more!) of their candy. They are welcome to just donate the candy OR they might also want to "exchange" their bag of candy for a special something from our Halloween Candy Exchange table. The candy collected will be donated to a few local non-profit organizations and a lot of it will go to Operation Gratitude, where it will be shipped in care packages to our US troops stationed around the world. VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with this event!

Thanks so much!
